First off let me start out by saying that Trey Songz is an amazing entertainer. Not only is he beyond f-iing gorgeous but he is out of this world talented. With hit songs such as "Wonderwoman" & "I Cant Help but Wait" under his belt I never once doubted the quality of his first mixtape release. I downloaded (shhh dont tell anyone) the song "Invented Sex" featuring Drake a couple of weeks ago from limewire and I was completely satisfied. The vocals are a step higher then so-so but the lyrics & the beat are catchy as fuck which these days is all you need for a hit single. I caught myself singing the chorus all day today. By featuring Drake on the song it only heightened its soon to be popularity. Everyone seems to like smooth rhyming Drake these days so the two of them together are a perfect match. This small preview only had me more JUiCED to hear the whole mixtape appropriately entitled: Anticipation.
Anticipation is some straight lets make some babies, have a one night stand, handle this make up sex before I go to sleep type of "album". Not to say Trey'z first two CD's weren't either but got daymn. Just look at the name of a few songs : "Scratching Me Up", "Yo Side of the Bed" & "On the Bed". Im hella feelin' "Infidelity" because the lyrics are true as hell. I love when I can relate to a song. Im also a big fan of "Famous". The song is about the life possible with Trey, something all of us ladies have dreamed about about at one point or another. It takes you to another world for a couple of minutes with a chance to fantasize.
I know in several years Trey will mature even more and sing outside of the everyday sex topics, but for now this mixtape will do. It's not his best, I'm sure he's holding on to those songs for his third album, but nevertheless the songs have an addicting nature to them and his voice is on point. I give it a 4.0 outta 5. But ima shut the hell up now, dont wonna ruin all the fun of downloading the mixtape yourself, or buying it which I'm sure Trey Songz & myself would rather you do.
